Farmgate Zimbabwe is one of the leading export companies in Zimbabwe specialising in the farming, processing and export of a variety of nuts. The business is a privately run business owned and operated by Mahomed Jassat and Sharif Jassat who are Australian citizens living in Zimbabwe.
Although the business has since expanded to include horticultural crops such as snap peas, sweet corn, butternuts and chillies, it is best known for its core business focused on raw and value added varieties of nuts namely macadamias and cashews.
In Zimbabwe, Farmgate is located in Chipinge District, Manicaland. Outside of Zimbabwe, Farmgate has business interests in Kenya, Rwanda and South Africa. In Rwanda, the company in recent years entered an understanding with Rwanda to plant Macadamia trees as a business growth strategy.
Farmgate is dedicated to a steady flow of raw nuts out of the East African region through working with local cooperatives and organisations. Farmgate claims to be a market leader of Macadamia and Cashew Paste and Cashew Oil producers in East Africa.
